In this module, learners will practice at-the-board skills including calibration, using the toolbox, board controls and set-up, and troubleshooting. For this module, learners (alone or in pairs) should complete each task at the board. Completion of this module is expected to take about 20 minutes - minus discussion.
Tasks:
1. Calibrating the Promethean Board - Calibrating the board aligns the pen with the on-screen cursor/mouse. - There are three methods for beginning the calibration process. 1) Hover pen over white flame in the upper left corner of the board until the flame turns blue. 2) Right-click ActivManager icon in bottom right corner of monitor screen and select 'Calibrate.' 3) From dashboard, select 'Configure' then select 'Calibrate' from the menu. - Follow on-screen instructions.
When white calibration screen appears, click surface with pen to begin.
Cross-hairs will appear.
Use pen to click intersection of each set of cross-hairs that appears on the screen.
3. Promethean Board Input/Output Box and Sound Controls View the first two minutes of this video tutorial to learn board set-up basics. Additional information about calibrating the board and an introduction to ActivInsprire software is found in the following six minutes of footage, should you choose to view that as well.
